near-perfect preseason followed by disappointments

so, we went 7-0-2 in the preseason! wooh!!
-hodgson got sent back to juniors
-cory schneider got sent back to manitoba
-lukowich sent to manitoba
-roster was finalized. here are the basic line-ups (subject to slight changes at the wills of fate and viggy):

so, the regular season has started. yay? actually, not quite:
vs. calgary: 5-3 loss. canucks didn't even show up untill calgary already had a 3-0 lead halfway through the game.
vs. avalanche: 3-0 loss. better play, but aves scored early and craig anderson shut the door.

current season record: 0-2-0. not what we had in mind. on the upside, detroit is in the same boat as us, losing both their overseas games against the blues. san jose also got pwned by the avalanche as well already. already, something is incredibly apparent about the standings: expect what you wouldn't have expected last year.

next game is monday night, the home-opener against columbus.
